Our performance is only as good as our recovery. What we do in between our training sessions will dictate how we perform on and off of the ice. Recovery includes stress management, breathing exercises, mediation, treatment modalities, and sleep optimization.
Over the last decade, we’ve helped hundreds of clients, both athletes, and non-athletes, improve their lives through training, nutrition, and recovery.
We started to help others because I always remember what it feels like to be helpless. At age 30, I was forced to retire from the NHL with a severe neck injury. Two neck surgeries later, I was no closer to playing hockey again. I had lost my identity and didn’t know where to turn…
Who We’ve Worked With
Every athlete starts their journey at GR Performance with an assessment to determine their strengths and weaknesses.
We take the results of your assessment and combine them with your goals to create a program specific to you.
We never send an athlete into the gym by themselves. There is always a coach present to walk them through the workout.
There are few instances in life for up-and-comers to receive care and attention equal to those at the top of the field. That’s what you get with GR Performance. Although my son is not a professional athlete, the team offers comprehensive, bespoke programming that supports him as if he is. It has left us feeling grateful – for a team that has consistently made our child’s needs and success a priority and goes above and beyond.
Working out the right way so you have functional strength—if you tie it all together with nutrition and the recovery I think that’s where you can make some serious gains.
Just wanted you to know that Taishi (2006) has been flying since coming back last month. He had a great Markham tournament given he was off for 3 months with a broken collar bone. I do put a lot of that on you guys training him for the 5 weeks post-injury. He is stronger and faster than ever. Greatly appreciated.
Our son George has been participating in the GR program for a number of years and the program provides the perfect combination of education and hands-on training for elite athletes, young and old. I haven’t seen or been a part of anything quite like this.
