Our performance is only as good as our recovery. What we do in between our training sessions will dictate how we perform on and off of the ice. Recovery includes stress management, breathing exercises, mediation, treatment modalities, and sleep optimization.
Sylvie Tetrault is a remarkable individual inside «Gary Robert’s Performance» and, without a doubt, I highly recommend that you work with her. She will change your life for the best.
Working out the right way so you have functional strength—if you tie it all together with nutrition and the recovery I think that’s where you can make some serious gains.
The speed work and agility work is huge for hockey players, there are so many lateral movements that you have to do on the ice. And to be able to play with the best players you’ve got to be able to do that stuff off the ice.
Our son George has been participating in the GR program for a number of years and the program provides the perfect combination of education and hands-on training for elite athletes, young and old. A huge shout out and thanks to Gary and the entire team for creating such an amazing, balanced program!
I haven’t seen or been a part of anything quite like this. That’s why you see the same guys every summer coming back because of how great it is and just how stress-free and easy it is for us as players. We’re excited to come to the gym every day for just the atmosphere that is here and the friendships that we’ve made.
We learn so much in the gym, we learn on the ice, but when you come here, you come to the gym, you’re working with Sylvie and she’s such a good nutritionist and Adrian and Lucas and Gary himself. The list goes on and on but they’re all smart people here. I’m very lucky to work with such a great group here.
When I come to the gym I feel like it’s a family here. Everybody is welcoming and so knowledgeable—and they pass on that information to you and put you in a position to succeed for the season.
